Iso Cab and too much time on our sanitised hands…

So it’s April and we seem to be living the same day over and over and over and over again…

Good news is that new Cab is coming on faster than usual. Been working on completing tracks for a September 2020 album (our sixth!). Sounds are heavily electronic with a bit of live kit and smattering of guitar. Trying to find the perfect mix of frequencies, and the search continues.

We’re mining a loose theme of early costume (or cos) play – particularly from back in the ’80’s when dressing up as some obscure anime hero in a home-made costume typically meant a whole different kind of social iso. Crudely made costumes, pre-Internet social networks, but a whole lot of passion. Comicon cosplay events today are massive corporate shindigs selling expensive merch and off the shelf outfits. Back in the ’80’s it was a brave new world of super dagdom and fun.

This is interesting to us. I don’t know why.

Here’s a great feature on early cosplay and some pretty awesome pix.

Altamont – live

With time on our hands it’s a good opportunity to mix a desk recording of our once-off live Altamont Redux show at Howler in December (seems like a lifetime ago).

We’ll pop some of these mixed tracks with some video via Andrew Delaney up on the socials over the coming months. It was super fun playing with such a great live band in front of an up for it crowd.

Oh – and Sam Cutler was there too!
