Next single is Rotsler’s Rules, recorded with guests Graeme Pogson on drums (Wes was in London during these sessions) and Ev Tweedie on bass. We tracked a rough instrumental version of this way back in 2017 during some jam sessions at Bakehouse but it’s really come together as a vocal track after a few live performances and some prodding by our producer Woody Annison who usually knows best about these things.

The single will be out late March and was inspired by noted sci-fi author, early pornographer and seminal LA cosplayer (what a combo) William ‘Bill’ Rotsler. Bill also wrote the first set of standard rules for costume play events (still known as “Rotsler’s Rules for Cosplay”) and is known for some great quotes such as:

“People are always making rules for themselves and always finding loop-holes”

Bill Rotsler

He authored a bunch of award winning sci-fi books in the 70’s and wrote about, starred in (as ‘Shannon Carse’ among other nom de plumes) and then directed a few racy ’60s adult flicks which seem positively tame compared to what’s a few clicks away today. You can learn more about Bill here and it’s a very deep and occasionally NSFW rabbit hole.
